One of the most flawless love stories in the entertainment world, translated by the wonderful dbskholic. Thank you so much!

When asked the question of ‘How do you comprehend love?’ Lu Yi thought deeply from a very long time before giving a response of ‘when you miss someone.’ He added to that by saying, ‘when you leave you’ll start to miss her even if it was just for one day, I believe that this is love.’

Having been together for almost a decade, Lu Yi still feels very reluctant when leaving Bao Lei to go to work. He starts that, whenever he leaves Shanghai to go to work, he will start to feel grieved when he check in every time at the airport. Every time he finishes work the first person he will call will be Bao Lei saying, ‘I will come home tomorrow’, and she’ll respond by saying, ‘really? That’s great, I’ve missed you’. He believes that this is true love.

themythdaiyuzhuan

The casts for the TV version of  The Myth and The Legend of Daiyu has been announced, with the female leads all being newcomers and Hu Ge and Ma Tianyu being the respective male leads.

Searching for the Dream of the Red Chamber seems to be like the Super Girls of acting. Even before the completion of the drama itself, actresses from the competition have already began to flourish. Lin Xinru of Ugly Wudi was the first. Ying Yezi, who plays Xue Baoqin, then signed on as one of the lead actresses in Meteor Shower. More are coming their way. Bai Bing, who plays Xue Baochai in Red Chamber, signed on to Hong Kong’s EGM and will star in The Myth alongside Hu Ge. Meanwhile, two other actresses from the competition will star opposite Ma Tianyu in an “idol” version of the Dream of the Red Mansion. Min Chunxiao will play Lin Daiyu and Deng Sha will play Xue Baochai.

Nanking Massacre films to hit the theaters in April

nanjing

Both H.Y. Brothers’  John Rabe and Lu Chuan’s Nanking! Nanking (also known as City of Life and Death) have been approved to be aired in China in late April.

Lu’s film looks at the massacre from the perspectives of a Chinese soldier, a Japanese soldier and a foreign missionary. The censors assessed the film over a period of five months, and a couple of violent scenes had to be revised.

Oscar-winning German helmer Florian Gallenberger‘s biopic about Nazi party member John Rabe, who saved hundreds of thousands of lives by setting up a safe area in the city during the attack, will be released on April 28, Tang Jingting of Huayi Brothers confirmed.

BOBO's future tasting delicious

bobo7

With the onset of Top Combine, BOBO’s future looked seriously shaky as it began losing ground to Top Combine, who’s Hunan platform and own merits helped them to rise rapidly. Fortunately, as cfensi said earlier here, “Huayi has been slowly developing BOBO’s career in a much admirable fashion.”

Beginning with an endorsement for Pepsi’s Mirinda, a stamp of approval in itself, BOBO’s 2009 includes two movies, one similar to High School Musical and the other a “secret.” A new album (rumored to be with Avex), is also scheduled for June release. My analysis rant about BOBO’s future below the line.

New Yorkers agree that Ugly Wudi is adorable

Lin Xinru adorable both before and after Ugly Wudi

Good Morning America, along with the random New Yorkers that it surveyed, agrees with Cfensi that Ugly Wudi is not that ugly. Click here to watch the report. Of the various news sources that have picked this story up, this I feel is the only one that shows justice to the story. Every other story makes it seem as if the Chinese hate it, when in fact Ugly Wudi was one of the most popular shows last year. Its product placement ads reached the level of Super Girl ads, and that’s beyond impressive. The third season is currently under production. (more…)

Zhou Bichang's back to lead a typhoon

zbc
As the 1min30second clip of David Tao wishing her good luck ends, Zhou Bichang official ended her six months of dissapperance as she joins Gold Typhoon. Gold Typhoon,a merger between Taiwan-based EMI, Hong Kong-based company Gold Label and mainland-based Typhoon, plans to launch Bibi into both Hong Kong and Taiwanese markets, which it probably can do considering the successes of her previous albums in Taiwan without any advertising and the fact that it was the company behind Anson Hu’s concert in Taiwan. After boybands, come idol dramas?

Will HIT-5 be the first mainland boyband to star in idol dramas?

Are idol dramas a natural procession to boybands? HIT-5 hopes so

Anhui TV stated that it would invest in a drama that is a mix of Meteor Garden and Prince Turns Frog last week. According to the news article, the drama is mostly Taiwanese in nature, with its production team from Taiwanese CTV (which did the original Meteor Garden), but it will be purchased by Anhui TV. The producer stated that “Jerry Yan has already agreed to being the lead, though age is an issue.” The main actresses  was to be chosen between Chen Qiaoen and Jolin Tsai.

In a later article, Anhui TV corrected themselves by saying that it is an original script about a poor girl and two rich guys, though they will look to dramas like Meteor Garden and Prince Turns Frog for guidance. Furthermore, they might look to mainland for the supporting actors and actresses.  While the Meteor Garden rumor is definitely false, the rest could potentially be true, though still unlikely.  But then, Anhui TV has been mainland’s exclusive channel for Jungiery(Mingdao, Qiaoen) dramas. If they were Daomingsi/Domyouji

BOBO obviously didn't care for a role in Meteor Garden

Despite the influx of fans spamming various forums on Baidu to argue that the “Four Hotties” of My Hero should’ve starred as F4 in a mainland remake of Meteor Garden, the top five of My Hero obviously didn’t care for a role in Meteor Garden.

When asked what they thought of Daoming Si, only Kimi replied positively, saying that he was loyal to his friends. Jing Boran replied “an useless person” and Fu Xinbo said “a bit unintelligent”. If they were Daomingsi, the first thing that both Kimi Qiao and Jing Boran would do is to get a new haircut; Fu Xinbo would start being responsible to his career as well as love; Li Yifeng would become a police officer. Hunan TV's new program showcases new artists

butterfly

Who cares if we get eliminated every round? We

One of the biggest criticism of Super Girls was that it lets out singers with little or no training and shoots them to fame. Hunan TV’s new program aims to change that. “jie jie gao sheng/mix-box,” a spin off of the word “going up a step everytime,”is a competition between (somewhat) new artists from different recording companies every week. The show will serve as a platform for companies to showcase its already trained artists.
