Okay, so you all know how much I love baby pictures of celebrities! Da Mouth is releasing a book that chronicles their growth. While it mainly features a visit to female vocalist Aisa’s hometown in Okinawa, the book also contains pictures of themselves when young. Check to see how each of them looked before they became Da Mouth.
Kimi's MV for One Night in Supermarket Theme Song
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ujz8iXJKj4]
Yes, another post on this movie. I really should start posting on movies other than just those I’m interested in, but oh well. The theme song, Tonight, of One Night in Supermarket was unveiled yesterday in a press conference. The MV centers around the secret, unrequited love that Kimi Qiao Renliang’s character has for his fellow co-worker, played by Jacqueline Li Xiaolu.
What caught my eye was that this song, blending a mixture of rock and and rap was composed and written by Peng Tan. However, it seems less like Peng Tan and much more suited for Kimi even though neither does rap. I don’t know what to think about this but I love the song. And the pretty lights.
The movie, directed by young newbie director Yang Qing, has had good buzz, and opens July 24th hoping to attract a wide audience, and is likely to capture the younger crowd at least.
Daniel Wu and Xu Jinglei: What are they up to now?
Xu Jinglei and Daniel Wu, who have worked together before in the movie Shinjuku Incident teamed up for a magazine (unnamed) shoot. I was going to put this in the News Roundup, but since both have so much going on professionally, it was a nice chance to talk about their upcoming projects. Sorry for such a lame post title.
Daniel Wu sums up Xu Jinglei: “She’s like a detective story…the more you get to know her, the more interesting she becomes”. Which could be true and not just random flattery. She seems sort of bland in interviews to me, but her work is so interesting. She’s gotten great leading roles as an actress, directed award-winning movies, had the #1 most read blog in the world, and started an e-Magazine for working women. So what is she doing next that combines her lauded talents and her girl power attitude? You’ll never guess…
The 20th Golden Melody Awards Winners
So I was going to put up the nominations the day before the ceremony to refresh everyone’s memory before the awards were announced, but then I forgot myself because I’ve been busy. But I’m still not too late to put up the winners list, so check it out and see if you agree or not.
Build-a-girlband à la Super Girls

Welcome to the build-a-girlband workshop! Create your very own Girl Band and other related artists at the Build-a-Girlband Workshop! You can choose and group your new Super Girl...
EE-Media has stated that through this year’s Super Girls, they were going to create a “female version of Top Combine.” And since only three of the people I mentioned last time were in the top 18 (further proving that eeMedia CEO Long Danni and I do not have the same taste in artists), and all of the top 18 are already signed with eeMedia, I decided to do another post. On the other hand, not being in the top 18 doesn’t mean not being in the girlband. Only 2 members of Top Combine were in the top anything, and Hunan TV/eeMedia has said that they will invite selected eliminated Super Girls to go on Yi Hu Bai Ying to select more girlband members.
To keep with the female Top Combine comparison, I’ve even organized them into groups for you.

10 Minutes Behind the Scenes of Sophie's Revenge
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG3Fk0h2sDs]
The female director, and the ladies of the film talk about the film. Sorry, I have no subs, but you can always look at the pretty sets. I think I’m setting myself up for a great disappointment by looking forward to this film so much, but eh. What’s life without hopes?
The thing is, I really like this film because of the genre (aka fun chick flick), which was rather undeveloped until recently in China, but has endless potential at the moment. I don’t dislike the artsy films of China’s past when I look at them separately, but I also don’t think it speaks well of a film industry to be mainly comprised of those films. There should be a balance, a diversity and China’s slowly (or rapidly?) getting there.
I sort of blab about Zhang Ziyi a bit underneath the cut, so if that doesn’t interest you…
The 12th Shanghai International Film Festival Wraps Up
Sorry, this list is rather randomly organized. OK, now it’s organized.
Tang Yan of the upcoming Stormriders 2 movie (and the CP3 and Pandamen series), posted up pics of her at the ceremony on her blog, along with goofy self-cam pre-redcarpet. This is the only eye-candy related news I have, sorry.
News Roundup 6/8/09 – 6/19/09
We’re going to start a news roundup of all the little bits of news that we don’t have the energy, time, or motivation to make full posts on. I wanted to start one before, but my inherent laziness made it seem like a project doomed to failure; We’re going to try again anyway because now we’re finding it harder to have the energy to make those full posts.
These links were found mostly by idarklight ….which is how it usually goes on behind the scenes of Cfensi. Except for the obvious parts by me, like where I start to whine about lack of Wang Yuexin activities again. WYX…you’re turning me into a whiner.
Music:
Yu Siyuan and Biz are back with their new single Zhan Fang, which is making airwaves across China. Unfortunately no link, but here are the lyrics.
Chinese Paladin 3 OST is out. Though the album is a disappointed to most who loved the first OST, Blue Bird Flying Fish may make their lucky break as their song, “Ci Sheng Bu Huan,” was a general favorite. Listent to the OST here.
Huang Yali’s first MV under Taiwanese company Linfair is out. The former Super Girl is one of the latest to benefit from the lifted restrictions on mainland artists in Taiwan.
Also releasing albums recently: Gary Cao, Peggy Hsu, Phoenix Legend, Tan Weiwei, Jerry Yan, and Lollipop. And maybe some artists I’ve forgotten (Don’t hate me!). I’ve linked to youtube accounts where you can listen to the album for some artists.
Mayday’s DNA MV for their DNA tour is out. Watch it here.
Tracing Shadow Trailer
A recent article from the Shanghai Film Festival (where the Hua Yi stars coverged) talked about the Four upcoming Hua Yi “Blockbusters”, all very different in genres and styles. Two of them, I’ve already mentioned on this site. Feng Sheng/The Message and Tangshan Earthquake/Aftershocks. Despite their boring English titles, it’s clear that they were heavily funded. The third big-budget film from Hua Yi is Di Re Jie, which I’ll be talk about whenever there’s clearer pictures/footage of the cast but from concept art, it seems well-budgeted as well.
Of the three, the one that makes me question the “blockbuster” tag is Tracing Shadow , starring Jaycee Chan, Xie Na, and Pace Wu. But it’s the fun one.
H.Born to release self-composed EP

H.Born stand for Harmonic Boys of Rhythm Nation, and also bo'en, a combination of their names
What happens when the seemingly parallel lines of self-composition and boybands meet? H.Born is born. The new boyband duo composed and arranged every song on their EP. Their resume is no less impressive. Wang Nai’en was third in line to sing You and Me at the Beijing Olympics. He also in majored directing at the prestigious Central Drama Academy, which hopefully means he’ll direct their own MV, too. If that’s not enough, they have the best nicknames ever.
one of their old demos, composed and arranged by Lion King, lyrics by both:
