Chinese Fusion singer Sa Dingding released her new album and it reached the top of the itunes music chart for the UK and for Switzerland. Interestingly, upon checking the music charts, there were no other East Asian-language albums among the other listed music market (apart from iTunes Japan), with one notable exception – Chris Li Yuchun’s first, second and third albums, all pop-oriented with the third having Zhong Guo Feng style managed to nab the top three spots for Belgium’s World Chart.
Congratulations to both these ladies!

any links where i can here their music??

congrats to chun chun! your songs are always my all time favorite.
I love chris lee very much
is Sa Dingding chinese? ive only heard one of her songs, and it was in sanskrit
Sa Dinging is 100% Chinese, and her ethnicity is half Han, half Mongolian, but she taught herself a lot of languages so she sings in them too.

Actually, this is quite unbelievable. I don’t suppose it’s the European audience buying this stuff since C-pop isn’t exactly global… so I suppose it’s the Chinese living in Europe buying this stuff. But still, are there enough Chinese let alone C-pop loving Chinese living in Europe to actually purchase this?
Wow.
I’ve been to Belgium, and I don’t recall seeing a single Asian.
know this is old, but Sa Dingding’s popularity may be due to Paul Oakenfold doing a remix ;P
Btw, Sa Dingding’s music is amazing.
No, she was popular in Europe among the…whatever crowd she was popular with, before this album, mostly stemming from publicity through documentaries, etc.
Oh, really? I only saw her on CNN’s Talk Asia.
