    you should put a note that Yi Zhimei is originally a Chinese mythical hero whose nationality was changed to Korean, by a Korean manga writer, and that’s what the Korean drama was based on.

    In light of talk and controversy about remaking Korean dramas, it’d be better to point out this isn’t.

    Is there a synopsis for heavenly weaver?

  2. Benji says:

    Is it not not…not…a remake? I don’t know anything about either shows, but this looks very comic bookish for something that’s not based off; well, a comic book.
    Ah, the previous post about this was spelled incorrectly, I just noticed.

    Heavenly Weaver looks kinda interesting. Not sure if the song really suits the theme, though…

    @Benji
    This is not the first time that Tangren has done this. If you watch another one of Tangren’s dramas with Wallace Huo, 西街少年/Westside Story, you’ll see the same style of storytelling with comic book – like drawings. I think they may even have the same artist because the drawings are really familiar.

    Nice.. Looking forward to Strange Hero Iljimae more though.

  5. therainhouse says:

    Ooops, Strange Hero Yi Zhi Mei. So, he’s a Chinese hero, like Robin Hood, but the comic book author who is Korean changed the nationality of Yi Zhi Mei to Korean.. Did I get that right?

    Also, are some of their voices dubbed? I don’t really get why voices have to dubbed .

  6. Iampheng says:

    Whoa! Yi Zhi Mei looks so awesome! I’m getting the feeling Heavenly Weaver might be a little too dramatic for my taste LoL

    “therainhouse” all chinese drama are dubbed more or less, the mainland dramas require the best pronouciation and they need the mandarin to be without any accents. LIke, wallace (the hero), he’s taiwanese and his mandarin is not close to the mandarin in the mainland. Just get used to it, otherwise the show seems nice, I’ve always preferred chinese wuxia than korean sanguek, since they’re better action scenes, although wheather the drama is better, depends. Loved Iljimae though.
