However, someone else did, and contacted the family after seeing the pictures that the Kims put up with their telephone number. Xiao Wu was very grateful for the kindness of this person, since their dog was beloved, and had been with them for 16 years. Let’s all follow this example and try to help other when we’re blessed with such an opportunity to do so.

Gossip Girl meets Hana Kimi = Runaway Sweetheart?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Actors for Dan (Chen Xiang) and Nate (Jiang Chao) check for gossip online during training.

Looking for new gossip? Try moving beyond the Upper East Side to a certain school on the other side of the world. Dan Humphrey’s alter ego, Dan(or Shan?) Hanfei, just got a new roommate, Shulei/Serena, and he (or should we say, she) is stirring up drama in the all boys’ college of Hua Gang. Swimmer Chuck is seriously questioning his sexual orientation, and even hottie Track Captain Nate is interested in this newcomer.

From the director of Hana Kimi, and following the style of Gossip Girl, Shineshow/eeMedia/Sohu’s “Runaway Sweetheart” is another take on the timeless plotline of girl-as-boy. The cast includes mostly first-time actors, including Chen Xiang, an unconfirmed female lead, newbie Chen Xiaoke 陈晓柯, and members of new boyband 8090. The drama will be mainland’s first weekly TV series, and will air next summer.

Chen Xiang plays the moody lead, a runner with a soft heart for his new roommate.

Zhang Jie named Best Asian Artist at Korean Awards

Zhang Jie

Zhang Jie in a photoshoot for his new album "It's Love."

Following Rain last year, singer Zhang Jie was named the Best Asian Artist by Korea’s Mnet Asian Music Awards.  His performance at the awards  wow’ed many audiences, and searches for his name rose quickly on Korean search engine Naver. Despite MAMA not being more Korean than Asian, the award is a nice nod to the singer, whose well earned widespread popularity in mainland has yet to spread internationally. In addition to just finishing a concert, Zhang Jie recently released his  latest, much anticipated album, “It’s Love/这,就是爱.” You can download it on Maypay here, and after you realize how pretty it is, but it from Yesasia here. His  juniors in eeMedia,  his shimei, the multinational girlband iMe, who debuted this past summer with Aiiya was also named the best new artist,  encouraging their growth as artists.

Despite being busy with his  concert preparation, promoting his new album, and attending events like MAMA, he still managed to make time for the most important things to him, his friends.  He went to Shanghai  before heading to the Zhuhai/Macau area for MAMA, to visit his friend and shidi Yu Haoming at Ruijin Hospital waiting at the acute care center for a very long time. However, he wasn’t allowed to go into Yu Haoming’s room, and staff could only pass on his hopes for Yu Haoming to get better.

New Photos from Upcoming Movie “Just Call Me Nobody”

December will be a movie-filled month, containing releases from three of China’s most famous directors, but out before any of these big-name releases is Just Call Me Nobody, a kung-fu-comedy flick that comes out December 3rd. Directed by Kevin Chu Yen-ping (Kung Fu Dunk) and containing a star-studded cast, the movie basically seems like a lot of slapstick and a lot of randomness, but a lot of fun.

You can’t really get much of a feel for the movie from watching the trailer or the theme song (which is a fun and bouncy song sung by the main actor), but the general premise of the story is that of a shoemaker named Wu Di who learns martial arts from a hermit after falling into a valley. Wu Di, played by Xiao Shenyang, had originally hoped to become a soldier like his father but after his father’s death, his family was left in poverty and he had to become a shoemaker in order to make a living. His favorite hobby is reading wuxia manhua, and he hopes one day to see a live battle between martial arts experts, not knowing that one day he himself will be participating in such battles.

Earlier this month, new artist Xie Nan released her first mini-EP, titled The Best Between Us (最好的我们). Most known for being an anchorwoman for Enlight Media, China’s biggest privately owned media and entertainment distribution company, Xie Nan had hoped for the last five years to release a recording, and her persistence has finally paid off.

The EP, which contains three songs, is a testament to Xie Nan’s dreams, but also a way for her to express thanks to the friends who supported her during her struggles to get to where she is now. One of these friends is Happy Camp host, He Jiong, who makes a special appearance in the title track’s MV. He also attended the EP’s press conference to congratulate her, as did many of her other friends, such as Allen Su Xing, Li Yifeng, Ma Tianyu, and Fu Xinbo.

Yu Haoming showing a mature side in the upcoming drama "8090 Xiang Qian Chong", which completed filming before the accident

A week ago the eeMedia family released the MV for Wishing for U, a song  to wish him a speedy recovery from his accident. Included in the MV were some of his closest friends who have known him and grown with him as artists and as friends. It also marked one year since he released his debut album, and since he started in acting, with Meteor Shower.

As a new artist, he had one of the roughest transitions into the spotlight, with his Meteor Shower appearance criticized heavily at best, and in more often mocked ruthlessly. But the past year  he had grown mature, tackling on many projects that would have reflected his growth in order to slowly earn the respect of the industry. He finished  filming the serious drama “8090向前冲” with famous director You Xiaogang (The History of Concubine Yang), and began work on “我和春天有个约会”, with famous Taiwanese idol director Chen Mingshang (Prince Turned Into Frog) with She’s Selina, an ambitious musical drama that would have been his first venture into period dramas had not the accident occurred  putting a pause to everything, for both him and Selina, and devastating loved ones.

Now, a month later Yu Haoming is now able to get out of bed and walk around. The doctors said that the condition of his healing is good, and the most important thing now is doing a good job of cleaning the wound and the post-recovery treatment. The doctors also said Haoming should eat more to enhance his nutrition, which will promote healing of the wound. While there is still   pain, Haoming is glad to be able to take steps forward, with the support and love of those around him.

Cards his fans and friends snet.

Ma Tianyu to Release New EP

Because of his busy filming schedule, it’s been two years since Ma Tianyu last released a new song or album, but he will soon be releasing a new EP, titled Zi Yan Zi Yu (自言自宇). The EP will contain five songs and is said to be a mix of four genres: lyrical, folk ballad, electronic, and pop.

Three of the song names have been revealed. The first, called “Ai Bu Zi Ji” (爱不自己) is a dynamic, upbeat song. Because the MV will require dancing, Ma Tianyu, who doesn’t have a very strong dancing background, gave up rest time in order to undergo intense dance training. “Gai Si De Wen Rou” (该死的温柔), the hit song from his 2007 album Beautiful Lights, will also be included in this EP. However, it will be a new edition, revised to include more Chinese national instruments, like the erhu and the yangqin, and will have more of a folk-song feel.

The third song, titled “Yue Guang Qing Lang” (月光晴朗), was released as a single in September, and was met with wide acclaim. The song is composed by Lü Sheng-fei and written by Yan Yunnong, both of whom worked on the award-winning movie Cape No. 7, which won Golden Horse Awards for Best Original Film Score and Best Original Film Song. Watch the song’s MV below. Screencaps from the MV are below the cut.

The quick nuptials raised questions amongst the public. Natural recipients of these questions were other actresses known for being fierce and assertive, including Fan Bingbing, who gave a “gelivable” response that won her the title of “Master Fan (范爷)”

Chinese handdrawn and also 3-D animated film, “The Dreams of Jinsha” is one of 15 up for consideration this year at the Oscars. The film is about an initially selfish boy named Xiao Long who travels 3500 years back to Jin Sha Kingdom (located in what is now Chengdu, China as an archeological area whose artifacts are displayed at the Jin Sha museum). Together with Princess Jin Sha and an elf he helps protect the kingdom from dark forces. The film took five years to complete, and was initially screened at Cannes Film Festival

Slashfilm gives a breakdown of the chances of each film, summarizing its chances as a dark horse, but unlikely that a foreign film would win this year with Toy Story 3 in the running.
