With several movies and a first album, 2012 is set to be a happy year for Yang Mi and fans.

This photo was featured on famous fashion blog The Sartorialist and later in the book of the same name after Scott Schuman saw her on the streets. Despite only showing her eyes, a number of people recognized her once the book came out. Cosmo magazine later caught sight of the photo, and asked her to confirm it was her in the Jan. 2012 issue. Can you tell who this “woodland creature” is?
With a fluid femininity, Li Yugang's voice is reminiscent of the old film and TV songs of beauty that is rare in modern Chinese music.
Following his successful concert series Portrait of Four Beauties , singer Li Yugang 李玉刚 released his second album earlier this month of songs from concert, including the theme song composed by Jay Chou and penned by Vincent Fang. Unfortunately, I can’t find all the songs online, but there are a few videos of his performances of his concert on YouTube.
The singer had first gained popularity through CCTV’s singing competition with his extraordinary talent for singing sweet, feminine songs like Nv Ren Qing, and was later invited to join the national music troupe. He will also make an appearance on the upcoming Spring Festival Gala. His being a rather particular art, I’m also quite interested in how it is that he came to be accepted in the mainstream audience. Anyone care to enlighten me?
The cast of Beijing Love Story features experienced lead actors and a variety of guest stars.
Conceived in around 2007 (when the male leads were working on Soldiers Sortie) and having been in production since the end of 2010, Beijing Love Story 北京爱情故事 will finally air beginning on January 7, 2012 on Zhejiang TV. The drama features, as the name suggests, a series of love stories set in Beijing. For a profile on the lead characters of the drama, look under the cut. The drama is produced by Li Chen and written and directed by Chen Sicheng. Will Chen Sicheng achieve first-time scripting success like his Central Drama Academy shidi and fellow actor Wen Zhang?

Mango Films’ The Superstar and the Pauper 另一种灿烂生活 (Another Brilliant Life) will air on Jan. 6th on Hunan TV, ans stars Park Hae Jin, new Beijing Film Academy actor Han Chengyu, Jiang Kaitong and Qiao Qiao. Fan BIngbing for Mercedes-Benz
As the spokesperson for international brands like L’Oreal, Mercedes-Benz, and Nokia as well as numerous Chinese brands, Fan Bingbing was recently named “the most profitable female spokesperson” by the top advertising magazine in China. For example, Mercedes-Benz’s sales rose by 35% in 2011, although we can’t say how much Fan Bingbing contributed to that.
Both the commercial and the booklet came out a few months ago, but I’ve only found the photoshoot recently. Watch her commercial with racecar driver Nico Rosberg below and more photos below the cut.
Some lovely stills from the upcoming drama ”Happiness of an Angel天使的幸福” were recently released, featuring the leads Ming Dao and Liu Shishi reclining on a beach in what has lately become a hotspot for dramas, Hainan Sanya. They respectively star as a doctor (An Jieluo) and a single mother (Li Xiaohan) who triumph over numerous tribulations to finally be together, despite machinations on the part of An Jieluo’s mother. The cast of this new drama also includes Jones Xu Zhengxi (“Unbeatable” and “Love Waking Up”) and Jessie Chiang, with the two playing a second couple. The “angel” of the story will be played by Tang Zhen, who will be Liu Shishi’s daughter.
Singer Fu Xinbo, who has recently filming for the Yang Warriors and did a cameo in Hunan TV’s Fairytale in Half, releases the fifth MV for his first solo album. Watch the MV above from IdolOfAsian3@YouTube.
