Two of the hottest stars of 2011 come together in 2012 for drama, music and love.

2011 was the year for Yang Mi. From the most influential drama of the year to the  highest grossing horror film in Chinese history all the way to a musical debut, the actress finally reached a top after 20 years in the industry (she’s only 25).  To top it all off, Yang Mi admitted today that she was dating actor Hawick Lau. The story has resulted in more than16 million weibo’s after less than two hours.

According to Yang Mi, the two became good friends during the filming of upcoming drama Ruyi. She then introduced him to her company, and he ended his long independent actor status. Hawick Lau recently called Yang Mi in a surprise phone call on Happy Camp, and the two filmed a MV together for Yang Mi’s new album.

In an interview published today to Southern Metro Weekly, Yang Mi said that previously, she always thought she was too busy for a relationship ( I don’t know how she has room for anything else given her workaholic attitudes), but found new confidence in Hawick Lau.

Just friends? Su Xing and Sun Xiaoxiao openly declare their friendship, but denies possibilities for dating.

‘You’re the only one who can make me smile when I’m unhappy.’ I smiled, too, when I received that message
‘There’s a type of person with the compatibility of lovers, but are not lovers. That’s not a regret, because friends can be forever, but lovers may not be,’ she said.
So can we just love, and not lust?”            – Allen Su’s weibo

To pay tribute to one of his best friends, Singer- composer Allen Su wrote the song “Just Friends 只谈心 不贪心” for host and actress Sun Xiaoxiao in his new album. Although there have been many rumors of the two dating, neither have been afraid to show how close their friendship is.   Su Xing calls her his 红颜知己, a female soulmate. The two has said, though, the only possible way they’ll get together if their parents pressed for marriage.
Recently, the two also teamed up for a cute MV for the song on their friendship. Watch it below from fountainpark723.

Deng Chao and Sun Li takes a busy break from their upcoming works - film "Painted Mural" plus a baby

Although the two has been legally married for year, actors Deng Chao and Sun Li’s wedding and announcement of a child in the comings brought at a smile love and marriage. Translation by genna@cfensi.

L’OFFICIEL: What do you both feel is the most important to learn and abide by in a marriage?
Sun Li: Love is between two people, while marriage is between two families. So, I feel you have to learn to trust and to have tolerance. Both husband and wife should be honest to each other; we use the same password for both of our email accounts. There are no secrets between us, but this causes some trouble at times, such as when we want to plan something romantic, it then becomes quite difficult.
Deng Chao: I don’t like the term ‘managing love’, to ‘manage’ is something you would have to do deliberately. As long as you’re willing to understand each other’s opinions and consider for their sake, that’s the best way for a married couple to get along.

On screen and off screen, Sun Li and Deng Chao help each other trust in love.

Actor Deng Chao revealed to the press that he and actress Sun Li had received their marriage certificate on his birthday in February last year, and hopes to have a wedding late this year. The two had previously filmed two series together – Happiness is like a flower 幸福像花儿一样 and Sweet 甜蜜蜜, and stars in the upcoming film Painted Mural 画壁 (a sequel to Painted Skin).

Sun Li said that because of her parents’ divorce, she had never believed in love before meeting Deng Chao. Deng Chao once dedicated a best actor award to Sun Li, saying that “It’s your love and support that allowed me to continue to bravely work in this field. I love you.”

Other than their good looks and innate charm, Deng Chao and Sun Li are two of the kindest artists around. Sun Li is already known for her helping stray pets, and Deng Chao has participated in numerous nonprofit works. Sun Li recalls that once, before they were dating, a driver in their production was hurt and the team decided to donate money to help pay for his hospital fees. Sun Li asked him how much he was going to donate. Deng Chao told her to wait, opened up his suitcase, took out all the money, kept a small bill for the cab back, and donated everything else.

Congratulations, Sun Li and Deng Chao!

Jane Zhang uses her confidence to help newcomer Pan Chen, who has signed under Jane's company Show City Times

Although Jane Zhang‘s successes have given her the image of a flawless goddess, a rare glimpse of Jane’s emotional side was shown when she teared up upon winning the Best Female Artist for the 5th time in a row at the Chinese Pop Music Awards last week. The singer cried as she talked about the confidence and transformation she’s seen in the past five years.

“The first 20 years of my life, I was like a speck of sand. I felt like if were I to disappear, no one would even call the police. I was a very non-confident person. But in these five years, standing on the stage, I’ve found my own confidence,” Jane said.

Following Rain last year, singer Zhang Jie was named the Best Asian Artist by Korea’s Mnet Asian Music Awards.  His performance at the awards  wow’ed many audiences, and searches for his name rose quickly on Korean search engine Naver. Despite MAMA not being more Korean than Asian, the award is a nice nod to the singer, whose well earned widespread popularity in mainland has yet to spread internationally. In addition to just finishing a concert, Zhang Jie recently released his  latest, much anticipated album, “It’s Love/这,就是爱.” You can download it on Maypay here, and after you realize how pretty it is, but it from Yesasia here. His  juniors in eeMedia,  his shimei, the multinational girlband iMe, who debuted this past summer with Aiiya was also named the best new artist,  encouraging their growth as artists.

Despite being busy with his  concert preparation, promoting his new album, and attending events like MAMA, he still managed to make time for the most important things to him, his friends.  He went to Shanghai  before heading to the Zhuhai/Macau area for MAMA, to visit his friend and shidi Yu Haoming at Ruijin Hospital waiting at the acute care center for a very long time. However, he wasn’t allowed to go into Yu Haoming’s room, and staff could only pass on his hopes for Yu Haoming to get better.
