Li Yuchun sets digital release sales record
Upping the previous record by 2 million yuan, Li Yuchun‘s new album “Dancing Artiste” was sold for 5 million yuan to China mobile and Phoenix TV for its digital release. To get some perspective, that’s how much the 90-episode new HZGG sold its record-breaking online streaming rights for.
The new album includes five compositions by herself as well as works from Crowd Lu and Wu Mengzhi. The album, released last month, has also became the top selling album of the year so far on Joyo-Amazon. Li Yuchun has been the bestseller of the year four out of six year since her debut in 2005. She didn’t release any albums in the other two years, 2007(won by Zhang Jie) or 2010 (Jay Chou).
Li Yuchun “crazy over heartloss” in new MV
Li Yuchun completes her MV list of all of my favorite songs from her newest album with a MV for “Crazy over heartloss 失心瘋.” The MV isn’t that exciting, but she’s pretty and the song is gorgeous. Plus, it’s in HD from ChrisLeeYumi@YouTube.
“The song is written and composed by Li Yuchun. The gentle and light jazz melody, along with the helplessly self-deprecating tone of the lyrics, fully expresses the repressed and detached insanity brought about by a breakup. “ - Jo.
“I sing la la la” MV out from Li Yuchun
One of my favorites songs from Li Yuchun‘s new album, I sing La La La, finally has its own MV. The quirky and addictive songs has an equally quirky MV. Watch it below from fountainpark723@YouTube:
“Dancing Artiste” Li Yuchun releases new MV
Since starting her own workshop within eeMedia, Li Yuchun will release her first album from the workshop this month – Dancing Artiste . See the MV for her second song, Sorry, I suddenly really miss you 对不起,只是忽然很想你, below from sayaka0638. I like the song a lot, but I think this MV would’ve been better if she directed it herself, a la the route of See you at the next crossroads.
“Sorry, I suddenly really miss you” – Li Yuchun
“Every cup of coffee, every movie, they all bring, without a trace, thoughts of your presence.”
Penned by herself, Li Yuchun’s new song, “Sorry, I suddenly really miss you 对不起,只是忽然很你,” again shows the depths of her lyric abilities. In the new song, missing is no longer painful or longing, but a bittersweet feeling that brings some sadness, but also some anticipation and joy. The tune, a cover of a song by G-one, instead brings back the lightheartedness of her self-composed hit from her last album, Bit by Bit.
Judging from her self-composed “the dancing artiste” and, the new album to be released on the 12th will again feature a large amount of her own work. This album will be her first album since leaving Taihe Rye to start her own studio, and so far, it has only continued her trend of getting better with each try.

Li Yuchun’s 2011 Why Me concert sold out in 1.5 hours, releases new MV
Queen of pop Li Yuchun shows that her reign has not ended through her 6th annual Why Me concert. VIP tickets were sold out in three minutes, and the rest in one and a half hours. Although she also have concert tours at hour times during the year, her annual Why Me concert is the most thought-after concert by her fans. The concert is held in a different city every year, and is always around her birthday. Like all of her concerts, the concert is especially directed by Li Yuchun herself.
She also released the MV for her new self-composed song, Dancing Artist, from her upcoming album.

会跳舞的文艺青年 Dancing Artistes, Lyrics and Composition by Li Yuchun; uploaded by fountainpark723@YouTube
Li Yuchun: Why can’t serious singers dance?
Often, artists with a focus on dance numbers are often criticised for not being “real singers.” Li Yuchun argues against that logic in her new self-composed song, “the dancing artist/会跳舞的文艺青年.” The song is the first from her upcoming album, her first since she started her own workshop as a part of eeMedia. Listen to the song here and watch the teaser below, both uploaded by fountainpark723@YouTube
In the lyrics, she speaks of the difficulties of two chose one choices – “The sun called complaining of headaches; he said it’s because he suddenly fell in love with rainy days. Such love sounds ludicrous, just like artists who dances.” She then questions why can’t people choose both. “ Who says that artists cannot twirl? Who says that twirls creates circles? Who says that circles must be boundaries and limits? Who says that those who twirls cannot be artists?”
Although more know for her performances than music, Li Yuchun has always said that music was her number one priority. She has also been directing many of her own MV’s and has directed all of her own concerts, and has recently dabbled into acting with “Bodyguards and Assassins.” Despite these increasing moves into various fields, Li Yuchun also released her first all self-composed album in late 2009 that included scores of great songs. To many bystanders, the album was perhaps a testament to her musical abilities and seriousness that her fans have always known.
