Jane Zhang goes on a Hollywood-styled road trip for her latest MV.

“What you see, is still me, but not just the past me. Bravely confirm everything I touch, and all of colors and vibrancy that belongs to me will use time to sculpt a me , a new me!” – Jane Zhang in  her description for her song, “我的模样 Personal look. ”

Complete with blasts and explosions, the film-styled MV is one of her highest-budget yet, showing a wild side of Jane as she becomes a fierce runaway bride driving across the middle of the desert. Jane has two other MV’s out recently, including a different version of Bravery and Beauty.

My favorite song from Jane Zhang‘s last album, Audacity and Beauty 美丽与勇敢 released its first MV this week as the theme song for Jaycee Chan’s part-animation, part-live action film. The song is a duet between Jane and her producer, Aadia’s. Three more Jane MV’s should be coming up, including another version of Audacity and Beauty.

With the aid of Adias, her producer for the last album, and American musician Michael Jay, who has worked with Eminem and Celine Dion, singer Jane Zhang continues her transformation to a diva in new album “Change/Reform 改变.”  As a part of the change, Jane Zhang hopes to show her more confident and happy side with song like Adias’ “Just Love 爱就爱” and the self-penned “Bold 大胆.” Other than several self-penned lyrics, the album also contains her second released composition – Last Chapter 上一章.  Listen to the entire album on tudou here. Although Jane Zhang‘s successes have given her the image of a flawless goddess, a rare glimpse of Jane’s emotional side was shown when she teared up upon winning the Best Female Artist for the 5th time in a row at the Chinese Pop Music Awards last week. The singer cried as she talked about the confidence and transformation she’s seen in the past five years.

“The first 20 years of my life, I was like a speck of sand. I felt like if were I to disappear, no one would even call the police. I was a very non-confident person. But in these five years, standing on the stage, I’ve found my own confidence,” Jane said.

Her emotional moment ended as she asked Wang Leehom, who was on the stage for Best Male Artist, for an impromptu duet, after which Leehom gives her a quick peck on the cheeks. Still flabbergasted by the duet, Leehom recalled of when he first dreamed of her and the duet, and thanked Jane for being his inspiration. Once he re-composed himself, he returned to his usual self promoting the collaboration of the entire music industry to make it better.

Leehom: This is a dream! I’m telling the truth, because two years ago, I had a dream, and I dreamed of Jane Zhang.
I’m not done yet. The lyrics and composition to this song, Another Heaven, appeared in the dream. When I woke up, I wondered why I would be singing this song with Jane. I recorded this song and gave it to Jane. This is the first time in two years that we’ve sung this song live, so I want to thank Jane for giving me these inspirations. It’s magical.
I’ve been attending the Chinese Pop Music Awards for so many years, and I’m really excited because this year is the one when I’ve seen the best performances, the best performances … Everyone’s singing, productions,  and performances have been great. I hope we’ll all support each other, because we’re not competitors but co-workers. Let us jiayou together. Thanks to my record label Sony music and my manger Xu Yuqin. Thanks to all my fans!

Famous for her epic ballads and wide vocal range, Jane Zhang broke free of her elegant image at the Hunan TV New Year’s Concert by dancing to Beyonce’s Crazy in Love. Before her album I Believe, Jane has always considered herself to have a quite uncoordinated body, but to be able to perform more powerful songs, she practiced long and hard to dance in the past year.

This New Year, Jane performed eight songs at three different live concerts, including Wave Your Flag and If This is Love on Hunan TV, To be loved, Hot and If This Love on Shenzhen TV, and We’re Together and Wave Your Flag for Dragon TV. In addition to their appearances, movies like Alec Su and Eva Huang’s “A Singing Fairy” and Zhang Hanyun, Zhou Xun, Li Bingbing, Huang Xiaoming, and Alec Su’s “The Message,” Cecilia Cheung and Daniel Wu’s “One Nite in Mongkok,” and Cecilia Cheung and Louis Koo’s “Lost in Time” will be aired at the festival.

At the opening ceremony, where the stars will be present, only balcony and box tickets are available, for $30, but you should go and support the festival to not only see awesome people, but to allow the festival to continue in the future so other awesome people can come.
