Jane Zhang releases new MV “In and Out of the Country”
Known more for her elegant and epic songs, Jane Zhang goes loli in the 出境入境 MV for her newest album. Colorful and barbie-like, the new MV makes one rethink who Jane Zhang is. P.S. I really like her bangs + long hair style in the MV.
Pan Chen Begins Her “Own Way” with Debut EP

Picture From the Photo Diary. For more gorgeous pictures see below.
Although Pan Chen‘s debut EP “On My Way” has only four songs on it, it took a year to prepare with an exceptional music team. Each song is to represent a season and a different stage in love. Her first single, Blossoming Love (绽放爱) represents spring. The EP also includes a photo diary, with beautiful pictures from Pan Chen’s journey in the past year.
One of the ten finalists of the Supergirls 2009 contest last year, Pan Chen was handpicked by Jane Zhang to be signed into her own, newly founded company, Show City Times. She is the third artist to be managed by Jane, apart from Jane herself and friend Wang Zhengliang. However, Wang already had a stable fanbase and wrote his own songs. This EP marks not only a new phase in Pan Chen’s life, but also Jane’s, testing her ability to find the best production crew for, and promote her young artist. It remains to be seen whether Pan Chen can successfully fulfill her dream of being a singer, and Jane’s dream of helping aspiring young singers reach their goal, but where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Singer-Songwriter Release News
While some of my favorite idols/actors/etc have been releasing, there’s an interesting mix of other news about singersongwriters aka really artists I like or respect but have a hard time making a full post on because it’s harder to find their songs/vids for recently releases on youtube.

While Jane’s busy doing various things (she’s in Tokyo right now?), her company Show City Times is releasing its first album for Super Boy Wang Zhengliang late this month. Not a big fan of him, but he’s from our favorite Music Conservatory and has a good voice.
More interestingly, Super Girl Pan Chen is joining Show City soon. It’s uncertain she’ll sign a record or management contract, but at least we know she’s not in the girl group.
Yu Kewei was a little faster and signed record contracts with Rock Records this week. She was promised an album in 100 days, which means she’ll probably be the second 2009 Super Girl to release a new album. Listen to a new song by the first album releaser Zeng Yike here.
A day later, Li Yuchun also signed with Rock Records for releases outside of mainland. Does that make Yu Kewei her elder? Her latest album “Li Yuchun” will be released in Taiwan late this month. Her second self-composed/written/directed MV has also been released.

Stars Pay Tribute at Chen Lin's Memorial Service
I had never heard of Chen Lin, but that’s my own ignorance and loss. She was clearly loved and well known by those in the Chinese music industry and the memorial for her was extremely touching. Those who attended included Yang Kun, Han Hong, Na Ying, Sha Baoliang, Li Quan, Zhang Yadong, two fellow Sichuan singers – Jane Zhang and Tan Weiwei, and many many others. Everyone sang for her.

She had such good songs…how did I not know of her? Credits to Janefever@TY, who has the lyrics in the description box
Jane’s is the only one I found at youtube and I don’t know how to upload Sina/Sohu vids.
The Sina vids are viewable here, and their main page for Chen Lin is here. The Sohu ones are here , and their main page for Chen Lin is here. The original MV for the duet with Yang Kun is below the cut.
China Open Comes to a Close While The Game Gets a Boost From Entertainment

Peng Shuai advanced to the Quarterfinals of the China Open. One of her old coaches was Michael Chang, whose tried to boost popularity for the game in China by guest-starring in Prince of Tennis Season 2.
Like a lot of other sports, tennis has risen in China quickly due to greater funding for it over the past years. This year, with $4.5 million in prize money, the Beijing China Open is now for the first time a mandatory, top-level WTA Tour stop. But the sport is also getting boosts from entertainment stars who are helping to push it into the mainstream consciousness. The China Open is in its final rounds, and Jane Zhang and Yang Kun recorded a song for it some time ago.
(This was before Universal started making her look trashy…go back to Hua Yi Jane, not the let’s-remake-songs company!)

Jane Zhang Kicks it Up for Barcelona
Jane Zhang is officially too cool for all of us. We all know that she has that polished voice with incredible range, and an acute business sense that has lead her all the way to success. But this girl has many sides, and one of them is being a rabid soccer fan, one who’s great with predictions and done World Cup commentating. Her favorite team is FC Barcelona and she was invited to support their Chinese fansite through a new photoshoot, where she wears her own official jersey, emblazoned with Z.Jane and the number of her favorite player, Messi, whom she got to meet and gave her CDs to. The pictures will be featured in the August issue of a sports magazine. Go below for more pics and blog entries she’s done related to the last World Cup.
