eeMedia's iMe girl band will appear in "Happy Magic" as a volleyball team. Curiously, they've chosen to pose with a soccer ball.

Huayi and eeMedia team up in the upcoming film ”Happy Magic 开心魔法”. Wu Zun features in this fantasy comedy as the “earth” element sorceror, Ling Feng.  International girl band “iMe” makes a guest star appearance as a volleyball team. True to its name, “Happy Magic” will feature four more sorcerors in addition to the one played by Wu Zun. Louis Koo acts as the “wood” element sorceror, Bak-Ming Wong as the “water” element sorceror, Jacky Wu as the “fire” sorceror, and Tonny Jan as the “metal” sorceror.

The story tells of a girl who was landed with supernatural powers by chance, and whose life underwent enormous changes as a result. She becomes entangled with the magic world, and drawn into a conflict of good versus evil with the five elemental sorcerors. She will be played by the newcomer Karena Ng (Wu Xinrong), a seventeen year old model from Hong Kong.

Pictures of Louis Koo and Tonny Jan have been released, they can be seen below the cut.

Zhang Jie and Xie Na announces they’re dating on Baidu Search Awards

ZBC: wtf?

Xie Na and Zhang Jie hugs as Zhou Bichang looks on flabbergasted...if only she came

After about three years of rumors, two years of dueting together as couples, Zhang Jie and Xie Na finally announced their relationship officially on the Hunan TV – Baidu Search Awards. Read more of their love story here.

In the 80′s, I’ve always thought an idol must be very very handsome, like Jimmy Lin, but then I realized that an idol is an example that one can follow. I’m happy to have such an honor, and thank everyone. I think I’m very lucky, I’ve released a lot of music works; I have my family, my friends, my colleagues, and the support my friends gave me, and I have my self, who can take care of Nana. I want to tell everyone: “We’re together, very happily.” Thank you for your blessings, and happy new year everyone. Thanks.

Daniel Wu and Xu Jinglei: What are they up to now?

U2190P28T3D2583964F358DT20090626171943

Xu Jinglei and Daniel Wu, who have worked together before in the movie Shinjuku Incident teamed up for a magazine (unnamed) shoot.  I was going to put this in the News Roundup, but since both have so much going on professionally, it was a nice chance to talk about their upcoming projects. Sorry for such a lame post title.

Daniel Wu sums up Xu Jinglei: “She’s like a detective story…the more you get to know her, the more interesting she becomes”. Which could be true and not just random flattery. She seems sort of bland in interviews to me, but her work is so interesting. She’s gotten great leading roles as an actress, directed award-winning movies, had the #1 most read blog in the world, and started an e-Magazine for working women. So what is she doing next that combines her lauded talents and her girl power attitude? You’ll never guess…

Of the four promotional posters for this event (best director, actress, actor, newcomer), I decided to use the one for best newcomer, because Xu Jiao (CJ7) looks so adorable in the center

The eligible films are those where two of the following occur: the director is a Hong Kong resident, at least one film company is registered in Hong Kong, and at least six persons of the production crew are Hong Kong residents.

And the winners are…

Thank You to all the Chinese Celebs giving to Charity Recently

untitled-1

I just read about Louis Koo, who after going to Sichuan in July to help with Earthquake relief went back to Hong Kong and decided to establish the Louis Koo Charitable Foundation to help society in need. This charity finally got the license yesterday. He’s not the only one who’s been doing things lately. Huang Xiaoming, Vicky Zhaowei, Sun Li, Jet Li, power couple Li Yapeng and Faye Wong all have been recently. I think part of growing, growing to be an accountable society requires things like this.
