Top Combine Performs First Hit “Cotton Candy” in Different Dialects

Top Combine, which celebrated its third birthday on the 25th, recently went on variety show Zhong Guo Ai Da Ge Hui. The show was filmed in Chengdu, member Ma Xueyang‘s hometown. He greeted the audience in Sichuanese and later got a chance to show off more of his hometown’s regional dialect as the hosts challenged Top Combine to sing their hit song “Cotton Candy” in their own dialects (or in Jin Ensheng‘s case, Korean).

Watch Zhang Yuan and Li Mao sing (sort of) in the Anhui dialect, Liu Zhoucheng give a stunning performance in Cantonese and Mandarin, Jin Ensheng switch between Korean and Chinese, and Ma Xueyang forget the lyrics he penned himself:

The entire episode, which was split into two weeks, can be seen at YouTube, thanks to puiizTC. Check the forum’s Top Combine thread for links. Some of the fun includes host and Super Boy Wu Yi singing snippets of Top Combine’s songs, Top Combine sharing what the most important quality of being an artiste or entertainer is (Xiao Wu’s answer is priceless), as well as an appearance from Ma Xueyang’s first violin teacher (she started teaching him when he was four!).

After revealing two new songs on Tian Tian Xiang Shang, Top Combine came out with their upcoming EP’s first official single. Titled “Lucky Boys,” the song was tailored for Top Combine and insightfully displays each of their unique styles through the lyrics. You can listen to it below; thanks to gocatfong@YouTube for uploading!

When Top Combine heard this song, they immediately told their company that they could participate in the choreography. Since their debut, their exquisite dancing skills have gained the widespread acknowledgment and love of the media and their fans. This time the boys hope that they can add more of their individual dancing characteristics. During their free time, they would go through choreography and dance rehearsals. Every time they finished arranging something, they would let their teacher and manager check it. After countless wishes, do-overs, and research, they finally passed on the sixth try.

In order to make everything perfect, the boys would often practice until very late at night, and wake up early the next day in order to make it to the dance studio on time. The say that the biggest difference between this dance and their previous ones is that “Every time you dance it, your luck doubles.”

Following Happy Beginning 快乐出发 last year, Top Combine’s Ma Xueyang again composed a cheerful New Year’s song for the eeMedia family. Gelivable Youth uses various internet slangs, such as gelivable, to capture eeMedia’s youthful energy. The MV is especially thoughtful in including the injured Yu Haoming at the end, using a cartoon figure to indicate that he is not forgotten.
