In the ads, Wang Luodan and Han Han are portrayed as simple beings rather than as celebrities.

Actress Wang Luodan and author/racecar driver/social critic Han Han recent filmed ads for internet fashion brand Vancl 凡客, or simple guests, a new company started by the founder of 卓越 (later brought by Amazon).  Watch behind the scenes of the two filming here. While Wang Luodan, with her pretty smile and fierce roles, has been a commercial favorite for a while, this marks Han Han’s first TV ad, right following fellow author Guo Jingming’s TV ad for an eyedrop.

Actresses Sing for Film

This coming summer will see many high profile films arrive in Chinese theaters, with big names attached. Many of these have theme songs sung by the actors themselves, backed by famous composers. One of these films of Zhang Yang’s (known for films like Shower) Driverless, an ensemble romance that includes Wang Luodan. She sings the theme Love Without a Driver, composed by one of China’s top music producers Zhang Yadong. The other is Kwai Lunmei, who sings for Xue Xiaoli, who despite being a first time director, has managed to snag not only Kwai, but talent like Jet Li and Wen Zhang (Narrow Dwellings) for his debut film. Kwai sings the theme song, composed by Joe Hisaishi.

Zhang Jie and Xie Na announces they’re dating on Baidu Search Awards

ZBC: wtf?

Xie Na and Zhang Jie hugs as Zhou Bichang looks on flabbergasted...if only she came

After about three years of rumors, two years of dueting together as couples, Zhang Jie and Xie Na finally announced their relationship officially on the Hunan TV – Baidu Search Awards. Read more of their love story here.

In the 80′s, I’ve always thought an idol must be very very handsome, like Jimmy Lin, but then I realized that an idol is an example that one can follow. I’m happy to have such an honor, and thank everyone. I think I’m very lucky, I’ve released a lot of music works; I have my family, my friends, my colleagues, and the support my friends gave me, and I have my self, who can take care of Nana. I want to tell everyone: “We’re together, very happily.” Thank you for your blessings, and happy new year everyone. Thanks.

The Drama Version of Du Lala's Promotion Casted

Edit: I was clearly too hasty with the pictures

I think we were all a little disappointed at the movie cast of Du Lala’s promotion, but as always, China gives you two of everything at the same time for your choosing, and the cast for the drama version looks so much more promising. Xu Jinglei may be one of China’s four “Hua Dan”, but she was really, really too old to play someone at her first job. But Wang Luodan, one of the four new “Hua Dan”  is quite perfect for the job. And so is Li Guanjie, who I’ve only seen  in passing since he got his breakout role in one of those series that only people like my dad watches, but he definitely has that manly charisma and acting ability to pull off the role.

Other leading ladies are the usual crowd, Fan Bingbing in Harpaar’s Bazaar and Sun Li in L’Officiel,  in futuristic looking shoots. Jacqueline Li Xiaolu does Hotspot, my fav weekly magazine.  Also looking gorgeous are the contestants for Dragon TV’s show Dragon Angels, which promises future leading ladies.

In my recapping endeavor, I decided to start with An Xiang, since it is the only one that came out so far and ranks number 3 on the poll of recappable dramas.

This drama is a mystery that revolves around the extremely wealthy and powerful Chen family, whose patriarch dies, leaving questions and and gaps in knowledge that are slowly pieced together, including information that deals with their past. The beginning two episodes give information on their ancestor, who lays the foundation for the present day Chen family, both their wealth, and their problems.
