I'm curious to how they will make the show entertaining for the viewers...I'm excited to see what they'll come up with.

But I'm worried about eeMedia's position in Long Danni's priorities. Ma Han is second place to Long Danni in eeMedia and directed Super Girls last year, and if she's directing the director competition, who'll do Super Boys?

Ahhh!

According to this sina article, the directing show is going to air auditions on Qinghai Satellite TV and CCTV Movie Channel. I love Shanda's connections. ^.^

It seems like auditions will basically a submission of a 5min or shorter piece of work.

Spoiler:

Is currently going through a "I want to film movies" marathon... so much better than Super Boys. Ma Han <3. Definitely a huge crush on the top two finishes. They should seriously date.
http://www.tudou.com/playlist/id9144952.html

Zhou Nan is just really amazing. Best scriptwriter, best director, best leader, hands down. Plus, he's extremely charismatic on stage. He's going to have a great career.

Second place Han Yi is so fierce. She doesn't try to act fierce, yet when she needs to be, she is on top of everything and get things done. She's so well-spoken and hits everything on the spot, and uses music perfectly in her clips. She also has an impeccable eye for talent, and knows her limits. Even very early on in the game, she knew that Chen Yipu and Zhou Nan would be in the top three. She also predicted Zhou Nan getting first, and made her goal to be in the top three.
I love the way she answers with so much confidence. My favorite part was when she had to PK in the top five, and she had to chose between Zhou Nan (winner) and another guy. When asked why she picked the other guy, she said "I want to PK with Zhou Nan in the finale."

There was also a cute moment when she, Zhou Nan and another girl worked together for a clip. One of the judges said, "Zhou Nan, be careful or your co-directors may fall in love with you." And Han Yi said, "sure, he can marry into my family. (嫁给我)"

She's also really pretty and sings well. She looks like Liu Xijun, but with clearer eyes:

From Hera, Breakdown of eeMedia managed artists, and their music labels (aka who is responsible for packaging and music production)
in the order of what I think their music is.
1) eeMedia -Wei Chen and Zhang Jie, Li Xiaoyun and Zeng Yike - while Zeng Yike has negative connatations maybe, her album was well produced since they took her compositions and gave them arrangement thtat made them better, more fun, more indie. Her packaging was a perfect fit. I think Jiang Yingrong is eeMedia managed and distributed too.
2) Tai Rye - Li Yuchun - she has really good albums too actually. Her MVs are average though.
4) Sony Music - Su Xing - Sony was kinda meh with packaging. His songs were pretty good but he wrote 7/10.
4) Doremi (Korean)- Yu Haoming, Top Combine, and iMe. - The worst so far. Yu Haoming's album was meh, and the only reason Top Combine had good music was because Ma Xueyang composed so many of them. iMe did have some good Doremi-produced songs however imo and their styling was my favorite of the three. But I hated the song Aiiya.

Other eeMedia artists for whom it's hard to tell the company quality since the artists haven't released enough:
1) Seed - Wang Yuexin
2) Rock Records - Yu Kewei - uh, she has an album, but I didn't listen to it since I find her slightly boring and the song in her MV didn't grab me
3) Show City Times(Jane Zhang's company)- Pan Chen

A very long explanation on the chatbox of how the various divisions of Hunan TV work.

It's actually not a very big mess. Either eeMedia or HunanTV just has to find the team a dance studio and a place to live.

@julie - what do you mean? 8090 is only a very small part in eeMedia's grand scheme. They're organized enough where I do believe they can get 8090 back on track quickly.

eeMedia is reponsible for its artists after they become their artists, definitely not Hunan TV. And they make the calls on who releases when, and how much money to spend on each person. Which is why I'm really impressed with them. It's not easy juggling the 20+ artists they have.

Hera

I think eeMedia is.

Hera
August 10th, 2010, 12:52 pm

One more somewhat related question, does eeMedia pay for their artists' training? Kenny from TC is taking dancing lessons from a studio now. Is eeMedia paying for that?

Lilly
August 10th, 2010, 12:50 pm

* Delete post

Most their investment must be in the form of recording/photography/whatever. Then again...where is Jiang Yingrong practicing? Hunan is really just a bit complicated. Next time I go back to my hometown (which I hardly ever go to) I need to find out if they do tours.

Hera
August 10th, 2010, 12:48 pm

* Delete post

I'm not sure. They may give them the space again though. eemedia should have it's own rehearsal space though. :/ I guess since most of the acts under eeMedia aren't dancers except the ones under Doremi, they haven't needed their own studio.

Hera
August 10th, 2010, 12:46 pm

* Delete post

HunanTV should provide space for one more week at least. Otherwise, what is 8090 gonna do on Aug. 16th?

Lilly
August 10th, 2010, 12:43 pm

* Delete post

8090 was supposed to be their "main attraction". Which justified the tons of money the tv department poured on them. But it didn't work out. Because of the tv department's mistakes, but that's what happened.

Hera
August 10th, 2010, 12:41 pm

Makes sense. If the rehearsal space is Hunan TV's, they probably won't be altruistic enough to give it to 8090 if 8090 is only appearing once more. And top 7 looks pathetic right now and they need to practice. :shrug:

Hera

It's really hard to say...because the company, overall is HUGE. It's not as tiny as the Korean music companies. There's too many facets. Long Danni might be the head of eeMedia, but she's not head of X division, or X division. etc etc

I have no idea. But I'm guessing if 8090 isn't actually part of the show that earns the revenue, they need the space for revenue making stuff? I'm very confused. But I don't think they purpose kicked out 8090. That makes no sense. I don't blame anyone for being really mad and pissed though.

I don't understand why HunanTV is being so difficult now. 8090 is also expected to perform during the Qi Xi concert in a week. How are they supposed to perform without rehearsal space?

For example, Nesound is under GBS, and produces a lot of Hunan's idol dramas. But Meteor Shower was produced by eeMedia I think, not Nesound. Which is why it has a largely eeMedia cast vs ZhangJiani + random Taiwanese idol actor

GBS is the umbrella company. Hunan TV is the station. eeMedia is a music company under them. And then there's other companies responsible for various dramas. It's a bit complicated

I don't get this whole HunanTV/eeMedia thing anymore. Aren't they partners? Most ppl seem to group them together.....

Zhou Yang replied that if they didn't love 8090 so much, they would have left already. They're all suspicious that HunanTV purposefully eliminated them, so all of them hate HunanTV right now......

Apparently HunanTV won't let 8090 use their car and rehearsal space anymore. Now the teachers are pissed off. They're leaving tomorrow if they don't get the rehearsal space back.
